I personally find it funny that i've written 4 posts since i've gotten here, but only 2 have actually been posted. Oh well, moving on.
So last friday was induction. My dad flew down from portland to come hang out with me and ryder and watch the induction ceremony. The scene for induction was a good one, with some good speakers as well. After about an hour and a half, it was over and we all went back to DC Village. I showed my dad around what we now refer to as "Home", showing him my room, and all the common areas that people hang out in. He then left to go take a nap back at his hotel room, then came back at 5:00 to pickup me and ryder and take us out to dinner at some indian place in Alexandria, where we partook in lots of rice and mango lassis. Afterwards we tried to look for a movie theater nearby for about, I'd say an hour and a half, before giving up. Reason being, the city planners suck at puting SIGNS ON THEIR STREETS. So we ended up going home around 9:45 - 10:00ish. He dropped me and ryder off and he drove back to his hotel in Largo MD.
The next day, my dad picked me up to go down to the park and ride to go explore downtown DC, mainly the smithsonians, which we only really went to two of them. The air and space museum and the American History museum. We took a simulator ride in the air and space museum, and I rotated the simulator in all possible directions just to make my dad happy, hehe. At the American history museum, my dad got to finaly see the star spangled banner, along with Julia Childs kitchen. After that we went to chinatown to go see Doom. This movie ruled. No fully developed plot, but lots of action. The FPS scene ruled. But yeah, overall it was what I expected. After the movie we went back to the village to grab my laptop and I headed with him back to his hotel for the night so I could get some sleep "the night before, all the drunk people were hanging outside my room".
Sunday, we woke up at 1:00, and vowed that we would go find a theater that was showing serenity. We left around 2:00, and because alexandria is so well layed out, we got to the theater at about 4:20. The show was at 4:55. So yeah.... WE MADE IT, saw the movie, it was awesome. We went out for some taco bell right after, then he dropped me off at the Village and we said our goodbyes. Kind of a short day.
Monday, we went up to the Perry point campus. I drove up and man, in my opinion the trip wasnt worth it. We spent about an hour and a half trying to get there and we were only at the campus for about 20 minutes, then we headed back. They have better living quarters then we do. THEY GET THEIR OWN HOUSES!! Wtf. That's lame. We headed back and by this time, traffic had gotten real bad so it was about 5:45 when we got back to DC Village. We had a brief meeting with our team, complete with Papa johns pizza. After that there was supposed to be a halloween social going on, but when I checked, there were only about 5 people total there, everyone else was going out to halloween parties everywhere. Instead of hanging at the social, I went with Jessica, Charlie, Emily, BIlly and Danelle down to Alexandria to just chill out and walk around, we did that till 11:30, eating at chipotle and getting some ice cream, then headed back.
So this halloween weekend has kinda been boring, but your options are limited when you're 18.
